We are the 4 Easter Bunnies who had a wonderful Easter weekend riding the Lilydale-Warburton rail trail. We caught the train from Melbourne, we were early so enjoyed great coffee at the Round Bird Cafe in Lilydale before Jenny from Pedalpickups collect our weekend bags to drop to Warburton so we could enjoy a lighter ride! Jenny's awesome service did not end there.... 9km into the ride, one of the Bunnies had a flat, spare tube was faulty, so an SOS call to Jenny and she andhubby arrived, spare tube, pump and smiling assistance and had us back on the trail again! We left our bags at our Hotel in Warburton for collection on our last day as we rode off back down the trail and a after quick call when we arrived in Lilydale, within 5 mins Jenny was there.....& she gave us Easter eggs!!! The only chocolate we had and VERY welcomed.... Think we finished them before we boarded the train. Thanks so Much Jenny, highly recommend your awesome service with a smile, and hope to be back again soon, we will definitely be calling you!! The Bunnies xxxx
Very scenic bike ride along the Warburton Rail Trail from Lilydale to Warburton about 42km, then a quick phone call to Jenny at Pedal Pickups on 0413263558 and we were picked up (with our bikes) and the four of us driven back to Lilydale where we had left our cars. Great bike ride and even better service from Jenny, we will definitely do the ride again and use Pedal Pickups.

On a quick trip to Melbourne we thought we'd do the Rail Trail. We took the regular trail from Filnders St - about $6 1 hour - to Lilydale by 10:00a, were we had arranged to meet Jenny from Pedal Pickups. She had been really good communicating hiring us bikes on the basis she'd collect them from the Cog café at the end of our ride. The ride starts climbing up through the outskirts of the town before hitting the railtrail, where the gradients are very modest and the surface wide and very well graded. The scenery was great, and Jenny gave us great local info on vinywards and cafes along the way (she also can organise tours.) Stopping for a coffee at the carriage café is a must. For lunch we took a diversion up a steep hill on a side road about 5k or so to the Killara estate. The ride is worth it as the views at lunch were amazing, taking in the valley, and the estate is both friendly and classy at the same time. Lunch was great, but we stuck to one glass each of their wine as we still had half the trail to ride.
The end of the ride, which at an easy 40 something Ks is achievable by anyone, is in the picturesque town of Warburton, which spreads along the river and has several good cafes for eating. We eat in the River view, which had great dinners and some local craft beers, and bought their homemade pies for lunch the next day.
